My name is Erica King, and I am proud to serve my community as a Pennsylvania Notary and Wedding Officiant.
Born and raised in New York, I grew up with my single mother and older brother, a retired Marine who now lives in Sweden with his family. I spent many summers in Brownsville, New York, with my grandmother while my mother worked tirelessly for more than 30 years at the same neighborhood bank.
I graduated with honors from F.K. Lane High School, where I studied law. That experience sparked my interest in the legal field. My early jobs—first at a comic book store and later at a law firm—strengthened my desire to become a paralegal. As a young Afro-Latina, however, I often felt that attending law school was beyond my reach.
I began my college education at Baruch College before pausing my studies to marry and raise my first child. Years later, I completed my degree through Purdue Global while pregnant with twins, graduating with a 3.8 GPA. As a devoted mother of five, I have remained deeply involved in my community, advocating for educational equity, parental engagement, and opportunities that strengthen families.
In 2000, I moved to Pennsylvania after celebrating my anniversary at the now-defunct Penn Hills Resort. My family initially built a home outside of town, and in 2005, I moved to the Borough of Stroudsburg, where I have lived ever since.
My community advocacy began when I organized parents to fight for the preservation of Ramsey School. Although the school ultimately closed, the building was repurposed as a pre-kindergarten facility. That experience deepened my commitment to civic engagement and community service.
I became a Pennsylvania Notary in 2014 and earned my National Notary Association certification in 2017. In 2016, I was appointed to the Monroe County Tax Assessment Office, where I created written procedures for tax assessments and judgments. I concluded my tenure with the office in 2025.
Since 2018, I have served on Stroudsburg Borough Council and currently hold the position of Vice President. I also serve on several committees, including the Stroud Regional Police Commission. In 2016, I founded Concerts in the Square, an initiative created to make the arts more accessible to local families.
Through my work as a notary, wedding officiant, community leader, and advocate, I bring professionalism, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping people navigate life’s important moments.

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
This is a content preview space you can use to get your audience interested in what you have to say so they can’t wait to learn and read more. Pull out the most interesting detail that appears on the page and write it here.
